We had a surprise on Saturday, I had Honey marked down as last mating on the fourth of March so had given up on her when nothing happened and kept pointing out to her she was just a fat slob. We were very proud of boys we had bred, Rangemore Yogi Bear was impeccably behaved for his owner Chris Angliss. |

And Rangemore Aslan the Great who had only had basic training when he left last year was superbly behaved and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience. So thank you Chris for the good work you have done on these boys. |

6th July John Fleming holding Sosimo. A small group of us meet at Chris and Brian's place in Ngunguru for a herd health maintenance day. We set up the scales in the stables and weighed the llamas to get an accurate measure on the dose needed. Penny King came up from Auckland and acted as vet assistant while Peter Webster administered the drugs (Ivomec and 5in1 vaccination), he also cut any necessary toenails. The six llamas and three guanacos were quickly done, the job was easy with the owners simply holding their animals. Unfortunately the weather was shocking and we couldn't take them for a walk, hopefully next time. |
